By Air GPS co-ordinates N06°06.917 E00°03.472. All circuits 600' to the West. Avoid over flight of dams, bridges and townships and watch out for turbulence from the mountain. Prior permission is required and a call on 123.45 established prior to landing. International flights must clear through Kotoka International Aiport before proceeding to Kpong. You must have prior permission from WAASPS before proceeding to Kpong. |
By Road from Accra take the motorway to Tema, then branch on the last exit towards Akosombo dam. Take this road for approximately 50km. When you pass the Krobo mountain on your right and pass through the Akuse/Somanya crossroad you should start to look on the right for the University of Ghana Agric Research Station (we share an access road) and the big yellow Airfield sign (turn right in front of it). If unsure stop at the Allied Petrol Station at Akuse Junction and ask for directions whist you top-up with fuel or take some refreshments at Africana Stopover (great Kebabs!) If you make it to Kpong you have gone too far!!!
