I WANT TO BE PILOT!!! (and what does it cost?)
Learning to fly is probably the most amazing thing you will ever do, and it all starts with a trial lesson. Trial lessons start at GHc170 (120$). If you then decide to go on to gain a National Pilots Licence (for Private use, flying 2-seat aircraft below 500kg, under part25 of the GCAA regulation) you will need a minimum of 30 hours flight training. Most probably you will need 40 to 50 hours. Consequently, we recommend that you budget to spend between $6,000 and $10,000 (GHc9,000 - GHc15,000)- depending on how quick you learn, how frequently you take lessons and your previous experiences and skill sets, over a 12 to 24 month part-time course. Once you have your first licence you will start building hours and experience towards future licences - and use light aviation to expand you horizons and opportunities! Perhaps, once qualified, you too can volunteer as a pilot to help with rural medical education programmes?!

I WANT TO BUY A PLANE!!! (and what does it cost?)
Aircraft prices start from around $70,000 and go up to $250,000, depending on the aircraft construction type, instruments, finish and other extras. We recommend that you establish what your desires are with your aircraft - if it is for building hours, gaining experience or local surveillance (agricultural and mining type applications), then tube and cloth is a good start (all of our primary trainers are this type). If you are considering longer journeys and more intensive applications the all metal aircraft have the edge. As you learn to fly you will appreciate these differences and our team will help you decide on the best aircraft for your needs and applications.
