How to get there: From
Tema roundabout take the road towards Akosombo, for about 50Km. You will pass
Krobo mountain, then the Akuse/Somanya junction at Okwenya. you should continue
for another 3km before turning right towards the University Research farm.
(If you reach the Starr Villa and Excel service station you have gone too
far). One kilometer along this track you will find Kpong Field on your right.
Please respect the fences, all security and safety advice to ensure a safe
visit to this unique facility. Please, do not park or loiter on the road -
it is a shared access.

Introductory Flights start at 400,000 cedis (GHC40), subject to weather, field conditions and aircraft/pilot availablity.
Aviation Museum: We hope to open an Aviation Museum at the site next year and are looking for volunteers to help with the preparation of the area and donations of exhibits (especially those items related to Ghanaian aviation history). If you are able to help, please talk to one of our staff at the site.
Opening Times: We are currently open to the public Saturday, Sundays and public holidays (except Christmas day) from 09:00 - 15:00. All other times are strictly by prior appointment only.

Taken on the 27 October 2005 this image shows the new 500m main runway (19/01) with Krobo Mountain in the background. If you look far right you will see one of our isolated tropical showers that we watch very carefully during the rainy seasons! It spent some 45 minutes working its way AROUND the field!
